We have the good luck to
have, in the centre of Mézilles, a superb
garden.
For many years, it had lain
abandoned - overgrown, and wild.
After its acquisition by the
commune, and with the help of the usual team
of
enthusiastic volunteers, it was
transformed into the local brand of
"village green" it is
today.

And it inspired as well the idea
of the Garden Festival.
In 2009, this event will be held
on
Saturday,
23th May
when the risk of Spring frosts
has, hopefully, melted way.
From 10 am
until noon: plant exchange.
Bring your
cuttings, bulbs or young plants,
and swap
treasures with other gardeners.
From 10 am till 7 pm, you will
find all sorts of stalls and displays:
trees,
shrubs, rose bushes, mediterranean
plants,
season
plants, bamboos,
tips from
professional landscapists,
garden
furniture, garden decorations,
lighting,
fountains, as well as everything you've always
wanted to know
on lavender,
culinary oil, etc., all from "artisan"
professionals
The day will end with an
aperitif, of course,
to the lively sounds of a local
traditional band, La Chalande.

Last year's festival was a great
success. Visitors and stall-holders alike were
seduced by
the charm of the setting, the
early summer sun, and the atmosphere of
conviviality.
Throughout
the afternoon, a barouche offered tours of the
village,
to the great
delight of children of all ages.

See you on
Saturday May 23 !!!
